WATCH CONCERTS FROM GAMLA HERE

Located at Grensen 1 in the heart of Oslo, Gamla Konsert og Scene and Gamla Beat Bar are two unique venues housed inside a historic building dating back to 1699. With their main entrance on Møllergata, both venues are operated by Stortorvets Gjæstgiveri AS, which also runs the legendary Stortorvets Gjæstgiver café and restaurant in the same building.

The address has been home to cafés and restaurants since the 1870s, making it a place with a long and colourful history of food, drinks, music and entertainment.

GAMLA KONSERT OG SCENE

Gamla’s concert hall hosts both established names and exciting new artists from Norway and abroad. Since the early 1970s, Gamla has been one of Oslo’s longest-running live music venues, with concerts spanning a wide variety of genres and styles.

Formerly also known as Gamle Christiania, the venue has an even longer musical history. Smaller folk and acoustic performances have taken place here and at neighbouring Stortorvets Gjæstgiveri since the early 1900s.

Stortorvets Gjæstgiveri is also known for its long-running Saturday jazz sessions, hosted by the New Orleans Workshop jazz club since 1978.

GAMLA BEAT BAR

Gamla Beat Bar brings the party to the heart of Oslo four to five nights a week.

Since the courtyard was transformed with additional seating in 2018, the concept has become a popular nightlife destination for a young crowd, with DJs playing from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM.

Expect Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop and Afrobeat, with some of Oslo’s best DJs keeping the dance floor moving throughout the night.

Every Thursday, the courtyard also hosts the popular Hip-Hop concept Hysj.

GAMLA’S COURTYARD

During the summer months, Gamla’s courtyard becomes the outdoor serving area for Stortorvets Gjæstgiveri – a relaxed spot for food, drinks and entertainment in the middle of Oslo.

SOMMER RÅKKENRÅLL

Summer also brings live music to the courtyard.

Selected evenings feature free concerts from around 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with Sommer RåkkenRååll becoming a regular favourite on Wednesday evenings.

On selected Tuesdays and Saturdays, Jazzen på Stortorvet also moves outdoors, bringing live jazz to the courtyard during the afternoon.
